About Me
Bio
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 23 years of work experience. My approach is client-centered and rooted in mindfulness. I work with you to find what might be blocking your full potential to navigate life, such as negative memories, traumas, life issues, stress, depression, anxiety, relationships, addiction and so on. Together with me, you will create your treatment goals and, with sensitivity and compassion, I will help you reach your goals.
I earned my Master of Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences, Jena, Germany and studied as a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) at the Department of Psychology, University of Cologne, Germany.
Work Experience
After completing my social work internship at King’s Cross Women’s Centre in London, England and Hannover Women’s Center (Frauen Treffpunkt) in Germany, I moved to Cologne, Germany and worked with different nonprofit and municipal organizations, including the Youth Welfare Office of Cologne. I focused on working with immigrants -- children, women, and families -- who experienced war, physical and mental abuse, and discrimination.
In 2006, I moved to the US with my family. I worked with Good Life Adult Day Health Care Center in Los Angeles in 2007 where I provided consultation and therapy mainly to Spanish speaking older adults with mental struggles.
From 2008 to 2017, I worked at DaVita North Glendale Dialysis Center. I provided crisis intervention, psychosocial counseling, short-term and long-term therapy to help patients to adjust to their health condition and manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use.
I started my private practice in Glendale in 2015. In my practice, I provide psychotherapy to clients, couples with depression, anxiety, eating disorder, personality disorder, and diagnoses of ADHD, PTSD, OCD and Bipolar Disorder.
From May 2017 to May 2021, I worked with Comprehensive Community Health Center (in Eagle Rock, Highland Park, and North Hollywood). I provided psychotherapy treatment to kids, teens, and adults, including counseling to women, couples and family. I worked closely with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals to provide coordinated care.
Since 2021, I have been work with Foresight Mental Health to provide individual, couple and family therapy with clients via telehealth. I see clients who experience a range of issues from bereavement, PTSD and sexual traumas to ADHD, anxiety, depression, and substance use. Here, too, I collaborate with other medical professionals to provide high-quality coordinated care.
I am a member of California Association for Marriage and Family Therapist (CAMFT) since 2015.
